The Residential Home for single mothers in Ciudad del Este is a long-held dream of Patricia Bozzano, founder of the "United by Christ" Home. For years, Ciudad del Este held a special place in her heart, and she felt it was the perfect location to establish a refuge for people in need. In 2011, Patricia and other members of the Home were invited by María Arlette Zapag, director of the Copetrol Group, for a donation event and refreshments. During the meeting, María Arlette asked, "What would you like to do in the future?" Without hesitation, Patricia replied, "I would love to establish a Home in Ciudad del Este to continue God's work throughout Paraguay." María Arlette, a woman who has always had a strong desire to help those most in need, saw the need and decided to take action. She excused herself briefly and returned with amazing news: she had spoken with her father, Dr. Abraham Zapag, who very kindly agreed to donate a house he owned in Ciudad del Este for this purpose. Everyone was astonished; it was truly a miracle. That same year marked the beginning of the 21-day fast, a practice that Patricia and her team adopted as part of their spiritual commitment. With the support of María Arlette, they began planning the renovation of the house, which had previously belonged to a family that could no longer afford to maintain it. The house was small, two stories, suitable for a small family. They planned more bedrooms, an expanded kitchen, and the transformation of a gallery into a dining room. The project took shape with the help of an architect, and over the next year, the renovations became a reality. In 2012, they officially inaugurated El Hogar (The Home), an achievement celebrated as a manifestation of God's faithfulness. Since then, the 21-day fast, the fast of the prophet Daniel, has been an annual tradition, a time dedicated to seeking God's will and trusting in His provision. Over the years, many more miracles have been experienced: expansion of the home, ongoing renovations, and the generous support of María Arlette Zapag and other donors in various areas, including education, health, and community development. Today, "United for Christ - Ciudad del Este" primarily serves vulnerable single mothers and their children. Here, they find the support and love of a family they so desperately needed to feel restored and loved.
